Candace Burton

Candace Burton, Program Officer for Safety Net Grants at The Boston Foundation, is driven to make a positive impact. Since 2021, she has helped grant over $6 million to nonprofits serving marginalized communities and vulnerable residents in Greater Boston. Co-chairing the Boston Chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, she empowers emerging leaders to build a more just, equitable world. She also serves on the board of Thrive Philanthropy, an international grantmaking organization dedicated to fostering alternatives to industrial animal agriculture. Previously, Candace worked at sports nonprofits, honing skills in fundraising, events, and program management. An alum of Ithaca College and UMass Amherst, she lives in Malden, MA, and is passionate about outdoor activities and exploring new restaurants.
