David Wolcheck

David Wolcheck is a 15-year veteran of Candid, having joined Foundation Center in 2008 where he began his career in philanthropy using nonprofit data to better understand the landscape of institutional grantmaking.

During this time he has managed data for partner organizations as well as for Candid’s own research. He has helped to produce numerous reports on a wide variety of topics including global giving, funding for social sector infrastructure, national grantmaking trends, and most recently foundation funding for HBCUs. He’s also built, managed, and fielded surveys on U.S. grantmaking activity. He currently maintains Candid’s research data sets and helps maintain research data infrastructure and assists with quality control within Candid. David provides supplemental data to Giving USA for their annual report and has worked with the Council on Foundations since 2010 on their annual Salary & Benefits Report.

David formerly performed evaluations of technology-based interventions in K-12 schools in multiple states. He holds a B.A. in Sociology and Religion from the College of William and Mary.
