Matt Sinclair

Matt Sinclair is the editor of Philanthropy News Digest (PND), Candid’s daily news service. In this role, he selects and curates coverage of the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, with a primary focus on U.S. philanthropy. Until 2024, his responsibilities also included conducting interviews with nonprofit leaders and philanthropists. During his tenure at PND, he helped establish PND’s commentary section, Community Foundation Update, Exclusives, and podcast.

Prior to joining PND, Matt was senior writer with The NonProfit Times, a business magazine that covers the nonprofit sector; the NPT Direct Marketing Edition; the NPT Financial Management Edition; as well as managing editor of Contemporary Long Term Care, a magazine that covered the long-term health care industry. In addition, he is a longtime emergency medical technician for his local nonprofit first aid squad, where he has served since high school.
